Hiring Process

 

A written test and agility test date will be set.

A written test will be given to applicants who do not have at least Firefighter I level.

Agility test is a timed test with a 10 minute time limit. All applicants will be wearing full turnout gear and airpack breathing on air.

The agility test consists of 6 stations.1) Ladder raise and lower, 2) Ladder Climb, 3) Hose roll raise and lower, 4) Ventilation, 5) Hose Drag, 6) Stair Climb

Station 1 Ladder Raise and Carry

 

Applicants will carry a 12' roof ladder to the building and raise to the building. They will then extend the fly section of a 24' extension ladder, secure halyard, and then lowered. The 12' roof ladder will then be removed from the building and carried to the starting position. 

 

 

 

 

Station 2 Ladder Climb

Applicants will the proceed to the ladder and climb to the top of the platform were the next station is located.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Station 3 Hose Roll Raise and Lower

Once applicant reaches the platform, they will then proceed to raise and lower a rolled 50' section of 2 1/2" hose. Once completed, climb down the ladder and proceed to the next station.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Station4 Ventilation

 

Applicant will take an axe and chop a hole in a simulated roof. Once completed, proceed to the next station.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Station 5 Hose Drag

Applicant will drag a charged 2 1/2" hose line to a stop line, flow water, and then return the hose to the starting point. Applicant will then proceed to the next station.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Station 6 Stair Climb

 

 

 

 

Applicant will then carry a high rise pack up one flight of stairs three times. Once completed, test is over.
