Youth Fire Starter Intervention Program
Each year thousands of fires are started by children and youth playing with fire. These fires result in substantial loss of life, injuries, as well as property damage. This section of our website is intended to serve as a resource to parents, guardians, educators, and anyone with influence over children to be able to effectively communicate sound fire prevention messages.
Our department is currently in the process of creating and launching a “Youth Fire Starter Intervention Program”. This program will help educate children or youth that are found to have an unhealthy interest in fire or caught playing with or starting fires. Please check back as this program progresses. In the meantime we have included some links to help you be able to identify and address issues commonly found in these types of incidents.
